Bridging Campus and Community

at duquesne, we are proud to be part of pittsburgh's community thread, with neighbors on all sides: downtown, south side, hill district, hazelwood and the mon valley. this isn't just where our campus is located; this is our community. we have a long history of helping our neighbors, and these partnerships pave the way for a bright shared future ahead.

volunteering is an important part of our work, but it's just one of the ways you'll find duquesne engaging in the community.

Look for us in pivotal city partnerships, neighborhood development groups, corporate and government体育彩票投注网360彩票 collaborations, community health care services, local education initiatives and so much more.

A Tradition of Service

serving others was central to our mission in 1878 when the congregation of the holy spirit founded duquesne to educate immigrant millworkers and their families. and as one of the region's most significant anchor institutions, our commitment to the common good stands equally strong and true today.

duquesne's students, faculty, staff and partners work to make a difference right here in pittsburgh, throughout western pennsylvania and beyond. in fact, 60 percent of our students are involved in local, national and global community engagement.

duquesne's office of community engagement is proud to partner with our neighbors to help create a vibrant, productive community that recognizes the value and importance of all individuals—of all backgrounds and occupations—who collectively contribute to the rich tapestry of life in this region and beyond.
